Each week, we will present four options for your group to choose from, with information on the Canadian company products, minimum orders for shipping (where applicable), links and contact information, and a bit about the product array. We recommend that your group arrange for a shipment order from any or all of the suppliers once you have gathered information on the quantities that your group will require. You may either gather money from each member that is ordering, or one group leader for that week will pay for the order and collect later from the members. In some instances, bulk orders will result in additional savings. Please advise us of any special requests for products that you may have.

This week’s “Made in Canada” recommendations include a winter boot manufacturer, a packaged specialty spice supplier, a hemp products company from Manitoba and a freeze-dried food processor. All offer cross-Canada shipping.

www.manitobaharvest.ca provides hemp oil, hemp hearts (seed, milled or whole), snack clusters, granola and protein powder. Now considered one of the “superfood seeds,” along with flax, it offers exceptional health benefits along with a wonderfully nutty taste.

www.thespiceage.ca is an Alberta company that offers shipping across Canada and also is available in numerous retail outlets. It bundles its products in groups, or you can build your own bundle. Some products include salad dressings, popcorn toppings, hot chocolate, bake mixes, dips, spice kits and gift packages.

www.kamik.com is a Quebec company that manufactures over 70% of its product in North America, with the majority made in Canada. While tough winter and all-weather boots are one of its strengths, it also manufactures clogs and Croc-like footwear. Very reasonably priced. It offers free shipping over $130, or $8.99 standard shipping across Canada.

www.purechoicefoods.ca is an Ontario company that sells freeze-dried foods to be shipped only in Canada. The shelf of food options includes freeze-dried fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, hummus, candy, treats and long-term survival supplies.
